Events
Everyone deserves a voice—a chance to express their feelings, hopes, and struggles. At PATH, we are committed to uplifting those voices, especially when they speak through art about mental health, crisis, and suicide prevention. We are proud to introduce 988 Voices in Color, a community art initiative showcasing the perspectives of students and residents throughout McLean County. Through powerful and personal artwork, participants reflect on their experiences with mental health and healing. From dozens of meaningful submissions, six pieces were selected to serve as visual ambassadors of hope and awareness across the region.
Below you'll find the six winning pieces, along with all of the incredible submissions from 2025. Thank you to everyone who shared their creativity with us this year.
Here’s to many more years of expression, impact, and breaking the stigma—one piece of art at a time.

Messages of Strength
"When I think of 988, I feel Hope. For me, Nature is a calming presence, and trees give me strength to hold on. I painted a night raccoon picture representing help during a scary time." - Mary E Darling
"I think of 988 as an invitation to see the light ahead and walk towards it with support. An open gate says you are welcome and wanted here." - Erin Duncan
"This butterfly is a visual representation of change and the ability to emerge stronger and more beautiful through a period of transformation." - Deb Nissen
"This striking painting visually represents the delicate balance between mental health and inner turmoil. The central image of the brain, intricately designed to resemble a grenade, symbolizes the explosive pressure and intensity that can come with mental health struggles." - George Woodworth
"In the process of healing, envision the threads of hope stitching your heart back together. Each stitch is a testament to resilience and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Remember you are never alone. Call 988 for support anytime." - Shayla Woodworth
