About the event:

Chefs for PATH – The Tasting Round

 

As ticket holders, you will be participating in Round 1 – The Tasting Round, as the Executive Chefs from five of our top local restaurants compete for your vote.  These talented chefs come from a variety of backgrounds and cuisines and are individually profiled in the event program. 

 

What’s In the Mix?

 

As we developed the rules for this culinary challenge, we had many things to consider, such as size of the event, equipment, ingredients and time.  Ultimately, our recipe for a successful evening calls for the following:

 

Required Ingredients

 

Prior to the event, each of the chefs will be provided with the main ingredients from Sysco Foods.  From those ingredients, the chefs are required to prepare 280 servings with no substitution. 

 

Optional Ingredients

 

The Chefs receive a list of regular pantry items that can be used from the restaurant kitchens.  These include spices, dairy, dry grocery, vinegars, pastry items, stocks, starches and additional miscellaneous items.  These ingredients are allowed, but are not required. 

 

Choice Ingredients

 

The Chefs are each provided a $100 budget to use at The Fresh Market for additional ingredients of choice, including any garnishes.  The only requirement put on this is that these ingredients must be used for every serving.

 

Your Participation

 

You will be divided into small groups to taste the dishes prepared by the competing chefs.  Afterwards, we will ask you to vote for your favorite.  The two chefs with the most votes will move on to the Live Cooking Finale.

 

Other Happenings

Be sure to visit one of our two cash bars or have one of our volunteer staff introduce you to our signature martini's, the Crisis Call and the Path-tini.  In addition to these delicious drinks we have several fine wines, beer, cocktails, pop and bottled water available.  You can pre-order bottles of wine to have ready at your table upon your arrival.
